A 10-CAR crash on the M6 saw a man suffer fractured ribs and a concussion while a teenager was left with whiplash.
The emergency services were called around 5.30pm on Wednesday after reports of a major incident close to Junction 28 near Leyland.
A 50-year-old man from Buckshaw Village suffered fractured ribs and a concussion, while several others were left with whiplash including a 15-year-old boy from Chorley.
A Volvo HGV was travelling northbound in lane one when the car left the carriageway towards the slip road.
It was then involved in a crash with a number of cars before hitting a Range Rover.
The road was closed for more than six hours.
Sgt Steve Hardman said: “We are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision on the M6.
“The incident caused significant delays in the area and we are grateful for the patience of motorists as emergency services worked at the scene."
