AS a couple, we already recycle to the maximum, with a full set of bins for the purpose.

Our grey bin is pretty full after two weeks, so I don't see how a smaller bin would change our recycling habits.

For any household with more than two occupants already recycling, the small bin would be insufficient. Some commentators have predicted an increase in flytipping. Perhaps so.

For those of us who will not engage in this antisocial activity, the alternative would be to dispose of any surplus waste by car at the local tip, costing time and money to supplement a service which council tax payers are already charged for.

I foresee long queues at Raikes Lane with people waiting to dispose of surplus waste at their own expense.

We have an opportunity to elect our council shortly. I predict Same Old Same Old. Hopefully, that could change!
