RAIL passengers in East Lancashire faced double jeopardy with fresh engineering problems hampering early-morning commuters.
For the second straight Monday morning, weekend engineering work over-ran, causing a knock-effect for services, this time along the Clitheroe to Blackburn line.

Train operators Northern Rail advised there would be delays of up to 40 minutes as work was carried out to rectify the problem.
And signalling problems were also reported on the Blackburn to Preston line, causing further delays of up to 25 minutes, though this difficulty was resolved by 8.30am.
A Northern Rail spokesman said: "We are sorry for the delay this is causing to journeys."
The 6:27am Blackburn to Manchester Victoria train was cancelled due to signalling problems.
