A PEDESTRIAN from Blackburn is in a coma after being struck by a car.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the man was seriously injured following a collision in Preston.

At around 10.50pm on Saturday, November 14, police were called to Garstang Road near the junction of Lytham Road and Watling Street Road following reports of a collision between a man and a white Volkswagen car.

A 47-year-old man from Blackburn, who has not been named, was found with head and chest injuries and taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.

He was later put into an induced coma and he remains in that condition today.

The male driver of the Volkswagen was uninjured.

The road was closed for two hours while accident investigation teams attended.
