A MAN needed to be cut from a car by fire officers after an accident in Blackburn which closed a major road.
A seven seater taxi collided with a green saloon car on Accrington Road, near Bottomgate, just after midnight.

Firefighters used hydraulic equipment to rescue a man trapped in one of the cars.
He was later taken to hospital by ambulance.
Nearby resident, Jack McCreadie, 19, who was passing on foot, said: "The road was closed and the two vehicles were badly damaged.
"I saw two fire engines, three police vehicles and two ambulances.
"They were cutting someone out of the back of a green car."
