ARMED police were deployed in Blackburn early yesterday morning after reports someone was seen carrying a gun.
Police were called at 7.30am by a resident reporting someone acting suspiciously.
Armed police were deployed to the Lower Audley Street and Walpole Street areas of Blackburn, and were seen there at around 7.45am on Thursday.
Two police vans attended and officers carrying firearms were seen patrolling the streets.

A police spokesman said nothing suspicious was found in the area, and patrols would continue as a reassurance exercise.
No roads were closed during the alert and businesses in the area continued as normal.
A 22-year-old witness said: “I saw three officers on Walpole Street and I noticed one had a sub-machine gun drawn.
“Obviously this was unusual, but they seemed quite relaxed and businesses in the area were open.”
