AN EAST Lancashire fashionista will be blitzed by colours this weekend to raise money for charity.

Laura Moss, 22, who lives in Hoddlesden, is taking part in the Color Run around Wembley Park in London on Sunday.

Laura runs her own online fashion business, Rex & Regina, which has its own label, and describes herself as treating guests like royalty.

But this weekend she’ll be forced to wear all white and certainly won’t be treated like a monarch.

The former Westholme School pupil will be sprayed with a different hue for each leg of the 5km run, which heads around the national stadium past a statue of 1966 World Cup winning captain Bobby Moore.

‘Certified Color Throwers’ hurl pink, blue, yellow and orange - with runners urged to wear goggles and a bandana or dust mask to cover their mouths.

Laura is supporting the East Lancashire Hospice, which cares for people from Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley, and is hoping to raise £1,000.

She said: “It’s great to support such a brilliant cause.

“I think it’s a great concept and that makes it much more fun.”

The organisers described the event as a ‘coloured flour food fight’, adding that the all-white dress code is compulsory.

A spokesman joked: “We will have white clothing police inspectors located throughout the event.

“You will be arrested and put in jail if more than 11.8 per cent of your person is a hue other than white . . . just like at Wimbledon, honest!”

And Laura, who is a blonde, isn’t worried about having multi-coloured hair for a day.

She added: “I don’t think I’ll be wearing goggles but I hope it all washes out.”

Hospice fundraising manager Sharon Crymble said: “We are thrilled that Laura has chosen to raise funds for East Lancashire Hospice. It costs £3.5 million each year to make a difference for our patients at a time when it is needed, but we couldn’t make that difference without the support of people like Laura and for that we are very grateful.”
