LOVING tributes have been paid to a popular Chorley print company boss, who died in February following a long illness.

Terry McLaughlin, 62, who began his career at Nelson Brothers' printers in Fellery Street, built up two successful local companies, JT McLaughlin Ltd and North West Repro Ltd, over a 30-year span, and was appointed the North West Regional Chairman of the British Printing Industry Federation from 2007-2009.

Jacky Sidebottom, current regional chairwoman of the BPIF, said "Terry always had a kind word and his advice was always spot on. He was a true gentleman and will be sadly missed by all members and staff in the BPIF who knew him."

Terry, who lived in Coppull all his life and who leaves wife Jackie, children Helen, Rory and Daniel and grandchildren Bethany, Aoife, Harriet and Teddy was also a former governor of Holy Cross school in Chorley and St. Oswalds in Coppull.

Tony Charnock, headmaster of Holy Cross from 1983-2004, said, "Terry was a very loyal, knowlegable and hard working member of the governing body. "He always had the interests of all the young people at heart, especially the more challenging students. He was proud that he was able to contribute to the success of his former school."

A short committal will take place on Thursday March 5 at Charnock Richard crematorium, followed by a celebration of Terry's life at Kilhey Court, Standish.

The family have requested that any donations are made to St Catherine's hospice.
