CHORLEY actor Ken Morley’s Big Brother stint has been cut short, after being removed from the house after a string of offensive comments.

After receiving a formal warning from Big Brother and 288 complaints from the public, Ken, who is most famous for playing Reg Holdsworth in Coronation Street was removed from the house by programme bosses for continuing to display ‘offensive and unacceptable language.’

A Channel 5 statement on Monday, read: “Ken Morley has been removed from the Celebrity Big Brother house for using unacceptable and offensive language following his formal warning.”

Safe Style UK, who feature Morley’s Corrie character in their adverts, set up a Twitter hash tag to earn money for the Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice throughout his time on the reality show.

Every time #KeepKenInCBB was tweeted, the company pledged to donate 10p to charity up to the amount of £500.

However, following Saturday night’s explosive episode, Ken went from being front runner to win, to being on the verge of being kicked out.

Following the 71-year-old’s removal from the house, Tuesday evening’s eviction was cancelled, along with SafeStyle’s charity hash tag.

The Chorley born actor rose to fame in 1989 when he stepped onto the cobbles as Reg Holdsworth, a comical supermarket manager who enjoyed the company of many of Wetherfield’s women over his six years on the show.

Many other reality shows have also featured Morley over the past few years, including Celebrity Master Chef and Celebrity Fit Club, however none have ever seen Ken’s controversial side.

This series of Celebrity Big Brother has been as explosive as any in the show’s history, with Baywatch’s Jeremy Jackson also being ejected from the house following accusations of groping another house mate.

Although it was hoped that Ken’s time in the house would raise enough to reach the £500 limit, dreams of making hundreds for the hospice are now scuppered.
