A MOTORBIKE which was believed to have been stolen was found on fire by passing police.

Firefighters were called to Airdrie Crescent, in Burnley, at 12.05am today by the officers.

Acting crew manager Lee Pickup said the bike was so badly damaged by the blaze that it was impossible to tell the make and model of it.

He said: "We got the call from the police. They just happened to be driving around and came across the motorbike on fire.

"We turned up and dealt with it.

"The vehicle has been reported as stolen."

The blaze happened on the road but was not near any properties.
