A MEMBER of staff at a supermarket has been suspended after allegedly smacking a four-year-old boy out shopping with his mum.

Police were called to the Morrisons superstore store in Brooke Street, Chorley, on Wednesday after allegations were made by a mother that her child had been assaulted by being hit across the legs.

A post to Morrisons on Facebook which was widely distributed on social media yesterday, by mum Selina Johnson, said: “Today I had the worst experience any parent could have, one of your staff smacked my four-year-old’s legs.

“My poor little boy cried his heart out.

“I have complained to the store manager and called the police who will be taking a statement and we will be pressing charges.
