Police have released a computer generated image of a man who threatened a woman with a knife in a robbery at her home.

The incident, which left the victim extremely distressed, happened when a man called at a detached bungalow on Sutton Grove, Chorley.

He rang the doorbell and when the victim, a 57-year-old woman, answered the door he pushed his way in brandishing a knife and demanded money. He made off with £80 cash.

The suspect is described as white, aged 20-25 years, 5ft 10in, medium build with short dark brown hair and a black lettered tattoo on left side of neck.

He wore a scruffy white t-shirt, blue jeans with two front pockets and a rear pocket. He also had scruffy dirty trainers with a velcro fastener.

He threatened the woman with a black handled peeling knife and spoke with a Liverpool accent.

Det Con Liberty Wadsworth, of Lancashire CID, said: “The victim has been left distraught by this incident and I would appeal to anyone who has witnessed anything suspicious or who has any information to contact us.”

The raid took place at shortly before 8.30pm on June 20. Call police on 101 quoting log 1477.
