New view for Adlington folk is blooming better
The Adlington in Bloom group have received a funding boost to create new flower beds and brighten up the area where elderly residents live.
Work on the beds on Harrison Road started towards the end of last year and they now contain a blossom tree, daffodils and a variety of other flowers which have transformed the look of the area.
The improvements were possible following a grant from Chorley Community Housing’s (CCH) Neighbourhood Fund Samantha Hornsby, neighbourhood development officer at CCH, said: “It’s great to see the end result of all the hard work.
“The Adlington in Bloom group have really changed the look of the gardens here and the residents are really happy.”
Residents at the bungalows used to look out onto a large patch of plain grass which has now been transformed into a beautiful garden area where they can sit out with neighbours.
Evelyn Norris, resident at the bungalows, said: “I have been a resident here for 27 years and this has made a real difference to us all.”
