Registration has opened for South Ribble’s Big Do, the Leyland area’s biggest networking event of the year.

The Big Do brings together people from businesses, public sector organisations, and voluntary, community and faith groups in the local area, and will take place on Thursday, June 5 from 5.30pm to 8pm, at Samlesbury Hotel, Preston New Road.

South Ribble Borough Council, with South Ribble Partnership, is hosting the free event for organisations across the borough.

The event aims to connect businesses large and small, charities, community groups, faith organisations, public sector workers, uniformed services and health and well-being providers, operating in South Ribble.

Guest speakers, including Leyland Trucks’ managing director Ron Augustyn, will be on hand to talk about how apprenticeships and volunteering can benefit organisations, and how to expand network and business contacts.

There will also be a marketplace where organisations will be able to make new connections, develop business links and discover new projects that they might want to get on board with.

During the evening the South Ribble Community Awards winners will be announced as part of the partnership’s efforts to recognise the work being done by local people and organisations.
