A HUSBAND has been charged with murdering his wife.

Mark Dyson, aged 54, of Harrison Road, Adlington, will appear at Preston Magistrates Court this morning. He is alleged to have asphyxiated his wife.

Police were called to the semi-detached home he shared with his wife just after 5pm on Tuesday after concerns were raised for the woman’s safety.

Officers smashed the front living room window and found the body of the woman, aged in her 50s. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Home Office post mortem examination revealed the woman, who has not been named by police, died from asphyxiation.
