RIDERS from across Britain got revved up for the 35th running of the annual Hoghton Tower Sprint yesterday.

More than 100 motorcyclists of all ages raced up the driveway of the historic tower to be first past the chequered flag.

The event has been running for more than three decades at the ancestral home, and is the centrepiece for a test of nerves and skill as competitors compete for glory.

Different categories of bikes race against the clock, one at a time.

The event was hosted in conjunction with Marshals North West, and was open to any age of motorcycle on two or three wheels.
