At the Regional SportsHall final, held at SportCity Manchester, two Chorley athletes competed with the best from the North West.

Ben Hughes, U13 achieved a personal best in his four-lap race, and brought his relay team home in second.

Ben was second highest scoring boy from Lancashire overall. Ben's team finished third in the overall event.

Holly Brookes, U15 achieved a personal best in her shot, fifth best in the event, and personal best in standing long jump.

Holly led her relay team off to a good start.

SportsHall Athletics will return in the autumn after the outdoor track and field season, which is now starting.

Seven juniors competed in the first track and field meeting of the year, at Blackpool.

First time competitors Rueben Kay and Emma Cull went in the under 9s, with Rueben achieving second place in the boys long jump and Emma third place in the girls.
