Help make plans to mark war centenary in Leyland
3:05pm Wednesday 5th March 2014 in News
PREPARATIONS are under way in Leyland to mark the centenary of the First World War with residents being asked to share their ideas on how best to mark the anniversary.
South Ribble Borough Council wants to get residents involved in planning a whole range of commemorative events and is taking a consultation road show around the borough throughout this month and early April.
Plans for the anniversary are still in their early stages, but a wide range of projects and event ideas are already being developed.
Over the coming weeks, the council will be asking residents how they would like to get involved in local commemorative events and what they think of the plans for a borough memorial.
The consultation will be run in conjunction with the forthcoming My Neighbourhood Forum meetings, where residents are invited to drop in to discuss community projects, events and activities.
The meetings all take place from 7pm to 8pm on Tuesday, March 25 at Farington St Paul’s Church Hall and on Thursday, March 27 at the Civic Centre, Leyland.
