A spring literary festival is being planned with the intention to bring creativity to Chorley.
Organisers are looking for people who have an interest in story-telling and creative writing to take part in the event or help run one of the workshops.
‘What’s Your Story, Chorley?’ is the name of the festival, which is being organised by the Creative Network, with support from Chorley Council.
The event, set for Saturday, April 26, will include storytelling, meet the author events, a chance to develop writing skills, enjoy other genres of books and learn about writing groups in the area.
Nigel Stewart, is part of Creative Network, which ran the successful Chorley Live event last summer. He said: “We know there are lots of people in the community who enjoy reading, writing and storytelling so we want to hear from those people so we can make this a real community event and bring creative people together.
“We are also looking for venues in the town centre who would like to work with us and host some storytelling.
“The event promises to be great fun and will really bring the town alive – the title of the event came from the fact that we believe everyone has got a story to tell – so we hope to inspire others to actually start writing too.”
