South Korean pianist Sunwook Kim makes a welcome return visit to Parbold Village Hall on Saturday, February 8, at 7.45pm in Douglas Music’s Live at the Weekend series.

Sunwook Kim was the youngest winner of the Leeds International Piano Competition in 2006, and has gone on to forge an international career to wide critical acclaim.

He made his debut in Parbold in 2011, and since then has performed at venues across the world, including the BBC Proms in the summer.

He returns to Parbold to perform a programme featuring J S Bach’s Partita No. 1, Scriabin’s Piano Sonata No. 3 and Schubert’s Piano Sonata No. 21 D960.

Sunwook Kim will complete the evening with Schubert's Piano Sonata No. 21.

This was one of the very last pieces Schubert wrote, and is considered a masterpiece, full of emotion, drama and melody.
