Images have been released of a couple police would like to speak to after cash was stolen from a purse at Buckshaw Parkway station.

The incident happened shortly before 7pm on Monday, November 18, after a woman left her purse on a seat in the booking area of the station.

PC Lorraine Faulkner said: “The woman, who was at the station with her boyfriend, left her purse on the seats in the booking office.

“Shortly after a second couple entered the booking office and, having spotted the purse, the man checked through it and took £45 from inside before getting on a train.”

Following the incident BTP officers conducted a number of inquiries and have isolated a number of CCTV images of two people they would like to speak to.

PC Faulkner added: “I am convinced that the people captured on CCTV have key information about the incident and am calling on anyone who recognises them to come forward.”

If you have any information about the incident, or recognise the people, please call British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40. In all calls quote log NWA/B4 of 7/1/14.
