Review The illustrious 130-year history of Chorley FC is celebrated in a new glossy 72-page brochure packed full of pictures and information about the club.

The pictorial history of the Magpies contains hundreds of pictures, articles and a complete record of the team’s cup exploits.

Edited by Dave Swanton, the brochure contains an introduction from chairman and former manager Ken Wright and a delightful feature by fan Mike Neild, who recalls his love of the Magpies, dating back to 1947, when he first visited Victory Park.

Chorley FC fans of all ages also get the chance to recount some of their favourite moments supporting the Magpies.

There are also pages of vintage press cuttings and a look back to the classic FA Cup run of 1986, when Chorley walloped Wolves 3-0 before a heroic draw against Preston North End, played in front of more than 15,000 fans at Ewood Park.

A gallery of team pictures over 130 years is something to behold and a pictorial history takes the reader on a journey from the 19th Century to the team’s current promotion push led by Garry Flitcroft. There’s even a celebration of the 13 successive wins achieved late last year, the best run the team has achieved in its history.

The high-quality brochure is a magnificent souvenir for any fan of the club, or indeed anyone who cares about the town’s social and sporting history.

Available from the club shop or by mail order from the club, priced £8.
