6:00am Tuesday 14th January 2014 in News
Information for young people on studying, short courses, apprenticeships, voluntary opportunities, pre-apprenticeships, and a wide range of other activities will be on offer at The Zone in Chorley on Tuesday, January 14.
The New Year – New Start event will run from 4pm to 7pm.
It will take place at The Zone on Lord Street in Chorley.
During the event, training providers, staff from local colleges and employers will be on hand to offer careers advice to young people between the age of 16 and 19, and sign them up to study, work or volunteer.
There will also be plenty of young people's workers available to provide information and support.
Matthew Tomlinson, Lancashire County Council's cabinet member for young people and schools, said: “This event is perfectly-timed for young people looking for a new start in the New Year.
“Whatever they’re looking to do, whether it’s a career as an IT technician or a nail technician, a portrait painter or a painter and decorator, a football coach or a coach driver, help and advice will be on hand. “ Free refreshments and a hot pot supper are on offer throughout the event. Parents are welcome to attend.
