JUSTIN Bieber has made it a perfect New Year for one of his biggest fans.

A giant cutout of the 19-year-old superstar is in pride of place in the bedroom of seven-year-old Aaliyah Hargreaves after she won a raffle set up by The Fragrance Shop in Market Walk, Chorley.

Justin has also brought some much needed sunshine into the life of Aaliyah’s mum, Sarah Jane, who has seen five-year-old handicapped son Alex having to go into hospital recently for a brain operation.

But the family were able to put all their cares behind them as they went to the Market Walk branch of The Fragrance Shop for Aaliyah, a pupil at Coppull Primary School, to collect her raffle prize of a life-sized cut-out of Justin.

To promote the new Justin Bieber perfume, the Key, branches of The Fragrance Shop each received a life-size cardboard cut-out of the singer.

Kirsty Oliver, assistant manager at the Market Walk store, decided they could make better use of Justin at the end of the promotion rather than dumping him in the stockroom.

Head office gave permission to raffle the 5ft 7ins cardboard Justin in aid of Rays of Sunshine children’s charity.

Sarah Jane, 25, from Coppull, said: “Aaliyah is such a fan, this is great. I took her to Manchester to see a Justin Bieber concert in February last year.

“She has every one of his CDs and all her bedroom walls are covered in posters and photographs of him. She even has Justin Bieber clothes, necklaces, make-up. She couldn’t wait to come and collect him! I was thinking I might give her the cut-out for Christmas but I think she knew I had entered the raffle.

Single mum Sarah Jane also has a five-year-old son Alex, who attends Mayfield School in Chorley. He was born at 26 weeks with cerebral palsy, epilepsy and hydrocephalus which required the insertion of a shunt.

He has endured five operations and had to go back to hospital recently when his shunt became blocked.

“He’s an ace little boy and I love him to bits,” said Sarah Jane.

“Winning Justin has cheered us all up.”
