New Adlington homes nearly ready for rental

New homes for rent being built in Adlington are nearing completion.

The 14 home scheme off Acresfield comprises a mixture of houses and bungalows.

They are being built on land previously owned by Chorley Community Housing (CCH), who gave the land to Adactus to enable the properties to be built.

CCH will manage the dwellings once complete.

CCH director of operations Richard Houghton said: “These properties will help meet the housing need in Adlington. The homes have been built on a former garage site and an area of public open space that was found to be under used.”

The properties, which are subject to nomination rights with Chorley Borough Council, will be advertised on Select Move when they are almost complete. Anyone wanting to be considered for the properties needs to be registered on Select Move.

Mr Houghton added: “We anticipate that the bungalows in particular will be very popular with applicants as two bedroom bungalows for rent are quite a rare commodity.”

The homes form part of a programme of over 200 new properties that Adactus and CCH are building in the Chorley area between now and 2016.
