Chorley Live to take place this weekend
6:00am Friday 4th October 2013 in News
The town centre will resonate to the sound of music this weekend during the first ever Chorley Live event.
Two-days of live entertainment will see 160 performances across 20 venues over two nights in Chorley town centre.
Artists have been selected to give the event a family feel with a wide selection of music and there will be an appearance from popular X Factor finalist Jonjo Kerr.
Other performers include rock, metal, soul, pop, country, jazz, blues, folk, Americana, hip hop, dance groups, choirs, classical music, magicians and storytellers.
People will able to gain entry to all the venues on a single ticket – a £5 wristband (u12s free).
Nigel Stewart from Creative Network is organising the acts.
He said: “It’s really exciting now we are just a few days away from the event and I can’t begin to say how delighted I am with the variety and quality of acts we are able to bring to Chorley.
“You can’t get much for £5 these days so to have two evenings of live entertainment with 160 performances to choose from is great value.”
The event is on Friday and Saturday, October 4 and 5, with live performances at 7pm, 8pm, 9pm and 10pm at each venue.
Wristbands will be on sale at each venue, from the acts taking part, the Creative Network or the council’s Union Street offices – more details, including full schedules are in each venue or at facebook.com/chorleylive or at chorley.gov.uk.
