Education information evening for Chorley teenagers
8:00am Saturday 31st August 2013 in News
Young people in Chorley, who have just received their exam results and are wondering what to do next, are invited to an event where information and advice will be available.
The What's Next? event is being organised by Lancashire County Council's Young People's Service. It will take place from 3.30pm to 6.30pm on Thursday, September 5 at The Zone, in Lord Street, Chorley.
Opportunities including full-time study, short courses, apprenticeships, voluntary opportunities, foundation learning and a wide range of activities through the local Young People's Service will be on offer.
Young people's workers will also be around to give advice and support.
County Councillor Matthew Tomlinson, Cabinet member for children, young people and schools, said: “These events are a superb way of giving young people information, advice and support, so that they can make an informed choice about their futures. Whether their ambition is to be an IT technician or a nail technician, a portrait painter or a painter and decorator, a football coach or a coach driver, this is an ideal chance for young people to get clued up on these and many other opportunities."
Parents are welcome and there will be free refreshments throughout the event.
More information on the What's Next? event is available by contacting the Chorley Young People's Service on 01257 517 240.
