Have a say on ex-pub eyesore

RESIDENTS in Clayton Brook are to have their say on action to redevelop eyesore ex-pub site.

After taking back control of the Clayton Brook pub earlier this year, Chorley Council is running an event where the whole community can have their say on future facilities in the area.

The Clayton Community Celebration will take place next to the site of Clayton Brook pub on Great Greens Lane on Saturday, April 6.

Between 11am and 2pm, residents can give their ideas on the development of the village hall, multi-use games area, as well as telling the council what activities they would like to see in the area.

There will be activities to celebrate the area’s new beginning including face painting, musical performances from SambAfriq, magic shows, Punch and Judy, arts and crafts and refreshments.

The council now owns the land that the Clayton Brook pub is located on.

The pub was on a long lease to brewery Trust Inns but had been left derelict since 2009 with no plans from the brewery to do anything with it.
