Chorley FC has received special permission to paint the town red this weekend - all in the name of Comic Relief.
To coincide with the launch of the club's new third kit, the Magpies have designated their home game against Buxton on March 16 Red Day and they plan to ditch their traditional black and white strip for a red one.
In a bid to attract more families to the game, the club has announced details of a Dad and Lad for a Fiver offer and anyone turning up in red on the day will also get a free Comic Relief red nose.
The club has had to apply to the league for special permission to play in red as opposed to the usual black and white home kit.
A number of other attractions are also being planned for the family fun day and the club will also be donating £5 from every sale of the red shirt to Comic Relief.
A club spokesman said: “We're a community-based club and we are trying to do as much as we can to attract more families to the Chorley Group Victory Park on match days.
“We thought this was a fun way of getting our fans involved in Comic Relief.
“The idea is we want people to come to the game wearing red, not only to show their support for Comic Relief but also for the team as they will also be wearing red on the day.
“It's a good way of showing we are all in this together.”
Red Nose Day is on Friday and schools, businesses and other organisations throughout Chorley will be doing their bit and having fun to raise cash for the Comic Relief charity.
