POLICE are treating the death of a man found at a house in Chorley as “unexplained”.

Officers were called to an address on Cotswold Road at 2.20pm yesterday after concerns were raised about the wellbeing of a 58-year-old man.

The man, who has not been formally identified, was found dead inside the property.

Officers, including a forensic team, were seen at the address thoughout the afternoon and a police presence remained at the address for the remainder of the day as investigations continued.

A police spokesman said that at present they were treating the death as “unexplained”.

A post mortem examination has been arranged for today in order to try and establish a cause of death.
