Chorley DIY store staff to the rescue
5:17pm Wednesday 30th January 2013 in News
Staff at a Chorley DIY store showed community spirit by clearing snow from a housing estate on the edge of the town.
After the recent snow, Lakeland Gardens resident David Catherall, phoned the Chorley branch of Wickes to see if they could deliver some road grit to free up the roads around his home.
Within 20 minutes of the call, two members of staff Rick O’Donnell and Kevin Walsh arrived and started to spread grit and break up the ice and snow.
Mr Catherall said: “Without the help of these two guys we would have been stranded here for several days.
“A great big thank-you to them.”
