Glynis Kidson with her painting
An artist has depicted some of the Chorley’s biggest sports stars as she prepares for a solo exhibition at Astley Hall.
Glynis Kidson, from Brinscall, who has been a professional artist for 25 years, has included the iconic Bradley Wiggins and former England rugby captain Bill Beaumont in her collection.
Glynis, an art graduate from Manchester University who has also worked as a biology teacher, is having a seven week exhibition at Astley Hall’s main gallery, from March 29.
She also runs the Picture Shop in Chorley where her work us on display.
Glynis recently painted Wiggins in the Tour de France: “I was inspired not only by the athlete but by the pattern and colours that a row of cyclists make in a composition on the canvas.”
She said she may approach Wiggins to sign some of the limited edition prints she will be selling.
