First on-site sports facilities unveiled at Buckshaw Village
The first on-site sports facilities to open at Buckshaw Village, midway between Leyland and Chorley, felt their first action during a holiday event for local children.
As well as hockey and football tournaments on the all-weather pitches, the local children were treated to a multi-sports day involving cricket, football and hockey games.
The floodlit pitches, that can be hired by Buckshaw residents at a discounted price, have been provided by the joint developers of Buckshaw Village, Barratt and Redrow Homes, and are currently managed by Community Leisure Facilities (CLS).
A further two grass pitches will be playable from September and work has now begun on building new changing rooms.
