The financial news may be going from bad to worse, but at Heart Research UK, we’ve got some good news and a suggestion that could cheer you up in these hectic days.
We’d love your readers to help us raise money for heart research and have some festive winter fun at the same time by using what comes naturally, singing.
For the past three years, national charity, Heart Research UK, has asked people to get together for a good old sing song as part of our Sing for your Heart week between 8 and 15 December.
Each year the numbers taking part goes up, with support from choirs, companies, schools, groups of friends and individuals - but we really want 2008 to be our best year yet.
There have been all sorts of great ideas: a singing school Santa post, concerts, lunchtime karaoke, someone was even sponsored not to sing.
We’re sure there are lots more ideas out there for everyone to enjoy.
Everything raised will go to support pioneering research into heart disease, which is still the nation’s biggest killer of both men and women.
Joining our Sing for your Heart week is a great way to forget the credit crunch and to start getting into the festive spirit this Christmas.
If you’re interested in finding out more or would like to request a fundraising pack, please call 0113 234 7474 or email info@heartresearch.org.uk for details.
Thanks and, in advance, HRUK hopes you have a happy, healthy Christmas.
