Laughing over blue bins

I had a good laugh when reading the article in July 16 2008 edition about the council changing the recycling system from canvas bags and boxes to a new all-in-one three-tier blue wheelie bin to be introduced next year.

The reason I had to laugh was that I remember seeing an article on TV where an area was using the same three tier system and everyone was complaining about it.

People were struggling to lift the bins sections in and out of the wheelie bin and some had injured them selves and there was no thought about the disabled.

I don’t think that the council have really thought about rubbish collection at all and wasted money when they introduced the first canvas bag only to find it blew away and then had to spend more money on one that had a weight on the bottom and now this so called new three-tiered system.

Just hope the council have deep pockets to pay for the injury complaints when this new system comes into place.

Well, I for one will be glad to get rid of the **** bags etc.I live in a terraced house so my box for bottles & bags for cardboard & plastics are kept in my small garden. On the day they need emptying i have to `lug`everything through the house, not very nice when slugs are dropping off the things then i have to play " hunt the slug " all over my carpets. So even though i`ll have another wheelie bin to take through 3 of my neighbours gardens then down the entry it better for me.
