“WHOEVER wins this it could change their laaaf,” hollers grocer Gregg as he shouts in another series of Masterchef.

Yes, Wallace and Torode (John the chef) are back and they’re intending on dragging this series out with 132 contestants featuring in three episodes a week over an eight-week period.

It’s all about “big plates of food” and “tasty grub”, and Torode and Wallace can’t wait to stick their fizzogs into the trough. As usual, each contestant “really wants it” and each and every one of them has an ambition to “open my own restaurant”.

First up though, they have to create those “great plates of food” and annoying music executive Matt looks like he can handle the pressure. Generally, they seem to have upped their game in terms of the contestants, so hopefully we won’t have to put up with people who can barely fry an egg. So here we are again, cook some stuff, Torode and Wallace try it, have a go in a professional kitchen, vote one through, and repeat ad nauseum until the final. Just the bill please, waiter.
