AN East Lancashire firm is being featured on a popular new ITV show.
Barnoldswick-based stove maker, ESSE, has found further TV fame by providing a specially-designed stove for 71 Degrees North.
The long-established company is already well known for supplying the range cookers used by the team at River Cottage, and now a newly-developed cook stove is being put through its paces in the Arctic Circle.
The current series of 71 Degrees North, presented by Paddy McGuinness and Charlotte Jackson, sees a team of 10 celebrities battling it out in Scandanavia to be crowned king or queen of the expedition.
Among the participants are hairdresser Nicky Clarke and gardener Charlie Dimmock.
Sales Director Mark Blewitt said: “ESSE designed the 'Campesse' stoves being used by the celebrities for both cooking and heating and has already received substantial coverage on the show.
“These stoves are actually the very same models sent by ESSE (with food packages) to help with the tsunami relief effort in Japan.”
The firm was established in 1854. ESSE stoves and cookers have been used in a wide range of demanding environments worldwide.
The historic company's client list even includes Florence Nightingale in her Balaklava Hospital and pioneering explorers Shackleton and Scott.

Lets hope this stove is a Lancashire show stopper.
