Classic rock band, The Yard Dogs are appearing at Chorley Community Centre, Railway Street, on Saturday, June 22 at 8pm. This is a six-piece band playing a wide range of musical styles including soft rock, country, rock and roll, folk and blues.
There will be plenty of opportunity for a dance for those who can’t resist, or just sit and enjoy the music and a drink from the bar – and not to forget our usual raffle.
Founder members of The Yard Dogs are Andrew Dodd (vocals and guitar), Derek Finch (acoustic, electric guitar and vocals), John Williams (lead guitar), Nigel Stewart (vocals, drums, percussion and acoustic guitar), and Steve Thompson (vocals, acoustic and electric guitar, mandolin and harmonica).
The band members also write their own music and are quickly able to add almost any requests to their catalogue.
Although they shared a passion for music at school and had played together in various configurations, they only all started playing together as the Yard Dogs in 2000 when Nigel returned from living in America.
Tickets are £7 from Town and Village Estate Agents, Fazackerley Street, Chorley or from Cathy on 01257 410297.
All proceeds to support The Arts Partnership Drama Group for young people with learning difficulties.
