A CAST of four actresses are determined to prove they are movers and Shakers as they take to the stage next month.

Chorley Little Theatre is to host the opening production of Chorley Amateur Dramatic and Operatic Society’s 2013/14 season, John Godber’s Shakers.

The partner to his well-known play Bouncers, Shakers follows four bored cocktail bar waitresses at work.

Hitting the stage from September 9 to 14, rehearsals are now well underway, under the debut direction of Zoe Duffin-Jones.

CADOS chairman Ian Robinson said: “While this is Zoe’s directorial debut, she is familiar with the play having appeared in CADOS’s last production of it, in 1999, alongside Jodie Prenger - the Blackpool-born singer and actress, who has since become a star of stage and screen after winning the TV talent hunt I’d Do Anything.

“This time, Joanna Gillespie, Sarah Rosental, Sally Anne Vosper and Emily Philbin play the four bored waitresses in the town’s trendiest bar. On a typical night, they reveal their hopes and secrets, and show us the customers they have to deal with.

“Shakers is a fast-paced show, full of laughs and drama as it reveals the truth behind the neon signs.”

During the close season, volunteers are busy with refurbishment works in the foyer, toilets and bar.
