Music impresario Mark Watkin Jones is coming to Rhyl and will be organising a whole day of punk, metal and hardcore rock.
The Emissaries of Syn bassist is relocating from Conwy Comrades Sport and Social Club to The Pot on Rhyl's High Street and has organised nine bands for the Stop the Summer, I Want to Get Off, an all-day charity event.
Topping the bill are no-holds barred, hard-hitting, fun rock Widnes/Runcorn outfit Salt the Snail, a sunny and interesting contrast to the Emissaries’ darker grind-and-roll stylings.
The Malefic Grip, meanwhile, will bring their heavy and sludgy grooves all the from Bristol to Rhyl for a ferocious downpour of disturbing doom.
Aggressive Conwy trio Morvo’s clash of punk and metal will cleave the black atmosphere with a vengeance – as will Scarcasm, a black metal band from the North West – followed by the flashes of passionate anger from Salvo and the crackling hardcore punk of fellow Mancunians Hoax.
The clouds will part with the beautiful ambient soundscapes of new Llandudno post-rock, experimental one-man-band Nico’s Mind and the more melodic punk of East Lancashire band SCared.
For an unmissable collection of top underground punk, metal, and rock acts from the North West, Wales and further afield, head to The Pot on Saturday, August 18 at 4pm.
Tickets are £5 on the door, with all proceeds going to Belief, a voluntary organisation that supports various community causes in Rhyl.
