Arrow star Stephen Amell is to graduate to the big screen, as he signs on for a role in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel.
The 33-year-old actor, who plays Oliver Queen and his Arrow alter-ego in the TV series, is to play Casey Jones in the follow-up, reported Variety.
Megan Fox is expected to reprise her role as April O’Neil, alongside Will Arnett as Vern Fenwick.
David Green will direct the sequel for Paramount, with Michael Bay as a producer.
Fan favourite Casey, who was played by Elias Koteas in the 1990 movie, is a loner who becomes an ally of the turtles and a love interest for April.
It is thought that Stephen’s chemistry with co-star Megan led to the studio offering him the role.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is scheduled for release in 2016.
Despite initial cynicism, the first rebooted film was a box office hit when it was released in 2014, banking around 191 million US dollars (£129 million) in the US, and 485 million US dollars (£328 million) worldwide.
