Courtney Love has admitted she may have had something to do with Lady Gaga's Artpop album concept and lack of focus on her tunes.
The Hole frontwoman was asked by the Gay Times what had gone wrong with Gaga and replied that her influence may have contributed to the Applause singer's recent problems.
According to The Sun, she said: "Well, I'm friendly with her. She started hanging out with a lot of my art friends and I think it influenced her and that's great, but it doesn't necessarily translate for the masses.
"She tried to take it on and sort of acclimate it into pop."
Courtney and Gaga's friendship may come as a surprise as in a 2011 interview, Courtney described her new pal as "a sexless Barbie doll surrounded by gays".
In her Gay Times interview, Courtney also praised Florence Welch, saying she thought she would stand the test of time.
She said: "Everyone loves Florence - who doesn't? Florence doesn't have any behavioural issues."
