EastEnders’ Dexter Hartman looks set to leave Albert Square to go and live with his mum Ava.

Ava Hartman (Claire Perkins) left the BBC soap last December after getting a new job in Newcastle and it was revealed last month that Khali Best who plays Dexter would be written out of the soap by the end of the year.

Now EastEnders has started dropping hints about why Dexter will go, as he starts thinking about going to stay with his mother in the New Year.

Dexter will start to doubt his future in Walford after he ruins his chances with potential love interest Nancy Carter (Maddy Hill).

Nancy is not happy when Dexter makes a joke about her family’s chaotic Christmas, and their friendship appears to be over.

Dexter’s grandmother Cora Cross (Ann Mitchell) also considers going to Newcastle.

EastEnders confirmed last month that Khali Best would be leaving the show after two years.
