You might presume it’s a wig but I’m A Celebrity’s Jorgie Porter has revealed she really committed to her role in Are You Being Served? and actually cut her hair into a mullet.

Jorgie, who plays all-new saucy secretary Miss Croft in the revived BBC sitcom, admitted she is no fan of the hairdo and got rid of it as soon as possible.

She told The Sun: “I actually had a mullet cut in my hair. I went all-out – short on top and long on the bottom, like Pat Sharp.

“All the girls were saying they used to have their hair like that and they’d flick it all out. I’d be like, ‘Really?!’”

“As soon as I finished filming, I had extensions put in.”

Despite her doubts about the 80s mullet, the former Hollyoaks star admitted she felt “strangely sexy” in her retro office suit.

Co-star Sherrie Hewson, 65, will make her appearance in fictional London department store Grace Brothers as Mrs Slocombe.

The Loose Women star has recreated Mrs Slocombe’s distinctive brightly-dyed hair but she admitted she was nervous about taking over the role from the late Mollie Sugden.

“I kept thinking, ‘Are they going to shoot me down because I wasn’t like her and I wasn’t good enough?” she said.

“I was so worried about that. We all got quite uptight about it because we so wanted it to be right and for people to love it.

“I spent my whole day right into the small hours watching Mollie, watching every clip.

“When we got on to the set in costume, when the music came on, I burst into tears.

“By the time we came to the studio on the night, the fear was immense. I remember sitting behind the set and sweat dripping down my neck.”

Others joining Jorgie and Sherrie in the resurrected sitcom are Jason Watkins as Mr Humphries, Roy Barraclough as Mr Grainger, Arthur Smith as Mr Harmon, Justin Edwards as Mr Rumbold and Niky Wardley as Miss Brahms.

New characters include Gavin And Stacey star Mathew Horne as Young Mr Grace (the original Young Mr Grace’s grandson) and Kayode Ewumi as new recruit Mr Conway.

Sherrie also revealed the cast would be happy to reprise the iconic roles for another series once the BBC’s Landmark Sitcom Season is over.

She said: “There’s been a chat about it. It’s now down to the BBC – but we’d all love to do it.”
