Review: Snakewater @ Hop Pocket, Chorley

By Keith Blackledge.

Snakewater, a fresh new rock blues trio, from the Manchester area, delighted a packed crowd at BJ's Blues Club,at The Hop Pocket Carr Lane Chorley.

These three young men in their early twenties, gave a mature performance beyond their years.

Danny Grant on lead guitar and vocals has the gift and played and sang superbly.

Ben Streets on the drums gave a solid performance, and will be a force to be reckoned with, these two have been playing together for about two years.

Simon Oakes is the new excellant bassist, and has only been with the band since September last year, and has his surname suggests, he rooted the band together, another great player.

A debut album is on the way very shortly, followed by a European tour this year, playing in Holland, Belgium, Switerland and Germany.

On the home front you will find the band playing up and down the country,at fesivals ,and the like, this summer.

I hope, this band goes from strength to strength, they do say, cream rises to the top, these guys are good enough.

Good luck, to you all, with performances like this one,its just a matter of time.

An excellent review of an excellent young band, truly worthy of all the comments but just one slight correction to be made .The lead vocalist/guitarist is Bobby Grant and NOT Danny Grant as stated. This band is a must see, "watch this space"
