BRITAIN’S Got Talent singer Hollie Steel’s mum has hit out after all major radio stations refused to play her daughter’s Christmas single.

Nina Steel said she was heartbroken Hollie’s version of Where Are You, Christmas? had very little airtime and not made it into the top 40 chart for Christmas.

She said local radio stations 2BR and the Bee had supported Oakhill College pupil Hollie, who lives in Huncoat but grew up in Burnley, by playing her song.

But she said major stations told her Hollie was ‘not established enough’.

Nina Steel said: “It’s no surprise that it hasn’t charted this week because nobody’s heard it.

“She’s not had the air play because there’s too many big artists.

"Radio stations have had the playlists with upcoming songs, including Hollie’s, for months and months.

"But they say they have no space to play hers.

"I don’t know how she’ll ever get established if they don’t give her a chance."

Mrs Steel said Hollie was looking forward to a break for Christmas, adding: “She’s worked really, really hard and it feels like it was all for nothing. She has a beautiful song out there.

Pushy mother!
When will she realise that Hollie is never going to be a big star? She might be cute in a local panto but the days of the 'child star' making it big disappeared with Opportunity Knocks years ago.
Stop trying to live out your dreams through your daughter!

I do wish this mother would go away and stop pushing her poor daughter at the public.

i find this whole thing ridiculous, why would she have a chart hit.
She has an ok voice, no better than a lot of other 10 year olds who have singing lessons.
some kids love singing, leave it at that, just let her enjoy it without this daft idea that she is going to be a star.
total nonsense all of it.

I agree pushy mother , it's sad hollie is only known in this area, and nationally for throwing a tantrum.. could you imagine if she was on a live TV show & forgot the words, Tv producers wouldn't touch the spoilt brat, don't get me wrong she sings well, but would do better uner proper management, I wonder why the mother is managing? maybe Pro management don't want her either..Just because you have been on National TV dosent make you a super star, it's the public thak make you that, & here's one for Nina "never look down on people on the way up because you just might meet then again on the way down! I fee l sorry for the little girl who is missing her childhood..

Why can't they (ma and pa) just let the girl be and grow up in peace, do her schooling and exams, and if she's still good enough, she can pursue a career in music then. Talk about child exploitation!!!

Good grief, the memories of Britain's Got Talent just came flooding back, when this pushy mum demanded that her brat be allowed to sing again, when she'd already thrown the mother of all tantrums on stage...car crash tv is all your daughter is known for, not her rather average singing voice. I wonder if Hollie wants any of this? Let her have a childhood...
