Sherlock Holmes comes to Chorley Little Theatre in a new adaptation of the character’s most famous adventure.

In The Hound of The Baskervilles the great detective is called in to investigate the mystery of a giant dog roaming the moors which could be responsible for several deaths.

With faithful assistant Dr Watson, Holmes soon finds himself in increasing danger as the line between natural and supernatural blurs and no one can be trusted.

The play is set in modern day with director Mark Jones adding new twists to the classic story, presented by Chorley Amateur Dramatic and Operatic Society.

He said: “It’s funny, it’s frightening, it’s pacey. It’s great to bring Sherlock to the stage with such a great cast and it’s going so well we’re already planning more adaptations”

David Reid stars as Sherlock Holmes, with Matthew Routledge as John Watson. Three stars of the CADOS panto Andy Burke, Siobhan Edge and Steven Catterall are among the suspects and Martin Clarke is Sir Henry.

Kath Townsend playing the traditionally male role of Inspector Lestrade, with the gun-toting detective hunting the hound in an action-packed finale.
