Virtual Villagers: A New Home, Nintendo DS, £24.99 Washed up on the shores of an idyllic desert island doesn't sound like a bad lot sometimes with all the stresses and strains of real life.
Virtual Villagers challenges you to work out how you'd cope and what you'd do to progress your bunch of virtual Robinson Crusoes into a cohesive coconut-chomping community.
From building their first huts to customising clothes and fishing for food, the entertaining events and mini-games give youngsters a great introduction to sim management-style games.
Right down to the odd message in a bottle washing up on shore after you've been away from the game for a while, Virtual Villagers is a cool little title that'll take you away from the real world for an hour or three... 3/5
