Performers wanted for Chorley panto season
11:57am Thursday 6th September 2012 in Leisure
It’s nearly panto season again – oh yes it is!
The Chorley Amateur Dramatic and Operatic Society is looking for budding performers to audition for its world premiere show.
The society is looking to recruit actors, dancers and singers to take part in its production of Santa! The Panto, which will be staged at the Chorley Little Theatre, just off Dole Lane, from December 14 to 22.
Set in the North Pole at Santa’s workshop, the show follows the adventures of Chip the Elf as he tries to save Christmas from the evil schemes of Jackie Frost who is determined to get rid of Santa and keep Christmas for herself. The show is a traditional pantomime complete with dame and all the slapstick and comedy business expected from a festive favourite.
There are 10 speaking parts up for grabs, as well as roles for dancers, and all auditions will take place on September 16 in the theatre.
Registration is at 10.30am for dancers and 1.30pm for the main characters.
Auditionees under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
All members of the company must be able to commit to all 10 of the performances and rehearsals will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
