A WOMAN born during the Second World War is trying to trace the father she has never known.
Glenis Burton believes he was an American, or Canadian soldier, and he may have been based in East Lancashire.
Her mother, Elsie Swift, was an assistant cook in the ATS and was posted to N Company East Lancs in 1941.
Now her daughter, who lives in Nottingham, wants to hear from anyone who might have memories of the local ATS barracks, or the GI servicemen who were also posted in our area. "My mother never spoke of my father and I have no idea whether he is alive, or dead, but I would like to find out what happened to him," she said.
l Do any of our readers have any information which could help Glenis in her search?
